Wireless Access: Windows 7 Set-Up Guide

Set up your wireless connection

  1. Click the Start button to pull up the Windows Start menu.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Network and Internet.
  4. Click Network and Sharing Center.

  5. Under the Change your networking settings category, click "Set up a new connection or network".

  6. Click "Manually connect to a wireless network" to highlight it.
    1. Click Next to continue.

  7. Enter the following information for the wireless network.
    1. For Network Nameenter CPP.
    2. For Security Type'enter 'WPA2- Enterprise.

      Note: If WPA2- Enterprise is not available, then use WPA-Enterprise with Encryption type TKIP.
    3. For Encryption Typeenter AES.
    4. Leave the Security Key text field box blank.
    5. Start connection automatically” should be check-marked.
    6. Connect even if the network is not broadcasting” should be check-marked.
    7. Click Next to continue.

  8. Click "Change connection settings".

  9. On the CPP Wireless Network Properties window, click the Security tab.
  10. On the Security Tab, click Settings.

  11. On the Protected EAP Properties window:
    1. Uncheck the option "Validate server certificate".
    2. Click the Configure button.

  12. On the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window:
    1. Uncheck the option "Automatically use my Windows logon name...”.
    2. Click OK.

  13. Click OK to close the Protected EAP Properties window.

  14. Click Advanced Settings on the CPP Wireless Network Properties window.

  15. On the Advanced Settings tab:
    1. Place a check mark next to the option "Specify authentication mode".
    2. Change the drop-down menu to User Authentication.
    3. Click Save Credentials.

  16. In the Windows Security pop-up window, enter your BroncoName and Network Password.

    Note: To set your Network Password, see eHelp's General FAQs page (link opens in a new window).

    1. Click OK.

  17. Click OK to close the CPP Wireless Network Properties window.

  18. Click the Network Icon in the system tray to bring up the available networks.

  19. Click CPP to connect to it.

Note: If you are having difficulties connecting, go back and review Steps 10-16.
