Wireless Setup for Windows 7
Configuration:
- Select Wireless Icon from the systems tray in the bottom right corner of the windows desktop
- Select Open Network and Sharing Center
- Select Network and Sharing Center from the button bar at the top of the window
- Select Manage wireless networks from the left menu
- Click the Add button
- Click Manually create a network profile
- Input the following settings:
Network name: FSWPA2 (in all caps)
Security type: WPA2 Enterprise
Encryption type: AES - Select the check box for Start this connection automatically
- Select the check box for Connect even if the network is not broadcasting
- Click the Next button
- Click Change connection settings
- Select the Connection tab
- Remove check for Connect automatically when this network is in range
- Remove check for Connect even if the network is not broadcasting
- Select the Security tab
- Select authentication method: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Remove check for Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network
- Click the Settings button
- At the top of the Protected EAP Properties window: Remove check for Validate server certificate
- At the bottom of the window: Ensure that Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected
- At the bottom of the window: Select check box for Enable Fast Reconnect
- Click the Configure button
- Select the check box for Automatically use my Windows logon name…
- Click the OK button
- Click OK to close the Protected EAP Properties window
- Click OK again to close the Wireless Network Properties window
- Click the Close button
Setup of FSWPA2 is complete!
